I am very fortunate to have been born into a family of teachers who were enthusiastic about their profession and realized that they were great influencers in meaningfully shaping the lives of their students. Thanks to this early orientation from within the family, teaching as a profession has always fascinated me. From around the time I started thinking of a career while growing up, I couldn’t think of anything other than teaching as a career choice. I started my teaching career with Sophia Girls’ College, Ajmer, the very place where I had completed my undergraduate studies. I have subsequently taught at various colleges and universities at the graduate, post-graduate, and doctoral levels.
As a teacher, I endeavour to create genuine interest in the subject that I am handling by making my sessions as interactive as possible. I routinely engage students using case studies, role plays, and classroom discussions. I encourage them to question, challenge, and dissent if they disagree with anything discussed in the class. More often than not, I succeed in igniting the spark of inquisitiveness and curiosity among my students, keeping them involved and engaged during the sessions. Encouraging young minds to think freely and independently is a challenge that I wholeheartedly undertake and enjoy. Developing the right professional attitude required in corporate careers that they would pursue later, besides continuously motivating them to work hard to achieve their dreams.
I have been developing and teaching postgraduate and graduate students courses largely related to Marketing, like Marketing Analytics, Consumer Behavior, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Sales and Distribution Management, and International Marketing. Besides handling doctoral students’ courses like Research Methodology and Research Ethics, I have been involved in the Online Distance Learning (ODL) programme of the Manipal Group, where I taught Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior.
